Career Choices
The curriculum was awarded a promising intervention citation and plaque from
the U.S. Department of Education, primarily because of its success in decreasing
dropout rates and increasing math and reading scores for nontraditional students. The curriculum also holds a "Best Practices" citation from the
U.S. Department of Labor for its summer youth programs.
Career Choices was an integral part of the curriculum
at Sussex High School, honored as one of ten All-American High Schools at
a White House Ceremony.
In 1994, the state of Washington presented its "Restructuring Award" to
a Tumwater High School for their Career Choices program.
